5 movies I loved in 2011

Despicable Me
Type: Animation

Undoubtedly, my favorite animated movie now, from the little girl (Agnes) yelling “Fluffy!!!” to the un-understandable language of the Minions, this movie is awesome from the beginning till the end. Despite its evil theme about a person intending to be the greatest villain of all times it is lovable and heartwarming. With dialogues like “Dart Gun, I said Dart Gun, not….” It is difficult not to laugh.

Payback

Type: Action

How far would you go for $70,000? You would go far, I would go far but we won’t go halfway as Porter. Porter, that’s the character played by Mel Gibson in this incredibly stylish movie with the simplest plot ever, so simple that I can put it in one line “Give me my money.” He shoots people, blows up cars, apartments anything that stands in his way. A movie with no good guys at all, absolutely none including Porter. Watch it and you might find new level of respect for Mel Gibson.

Cape Fear
Type: Revenge
You would want to stay away from this movie, if you don’t like blood and violence but if you decide to stay away you’ll be missing one of the best performances by Robert De Niro. The story of a convict who comes back after 14 years in prison to get to the lawyer who defended him, a convict who went in an illiterate and came out better read than his lawyer, Quoting Silesius, 17th Century "I am like God, and God like me. I am as large as God, He is as small as I. He cannot above me, nor I beneath Him be."
Although my favorite revenge film still remains to be KILL BILL, this one sure is in the Top 5

X-Men: First Class
Type: Superhero
Now 2011 saw, superhero movies Thor, Green Lantern, X-Men: First Class and Captain America, for those who have not seen (and remember) the previous movies of the X-Men series, X-Men: First Class would not be a great movie, but for those who have, no point of reading this review coz they would’ve seen this movie already! If not, go buy the DVD, Oh! Who am I kidding?? Download it now! It’s great to see how the Cerebero was made, how Magneto got his helmet and Professor Charles Xavier ended up on a wheel chair and for the people looking for a superhero movie except X-Men, watch Captain America.

Real Steel
Type: Robot Boxing
Ambush, Naughty Boy, Twin Cities, Zeus and Adam these are the names of the Robot Boxers in the ring who will bring you ecstasy. The films quickly enters into the story and never loses grip, this Robot version of Rocky is simply amazing, will leave you feeling energetic and great. From the posters you might think it’s like Transformers (that’s what I thought) and went for the movie coz I had nothing better to do that night and like they say good things happen to you when you least expect them. Hugh Jackman truly knows how to entertain.

How often do you get to show the one you love the amount of love you have for that person?

I mean of course you could get chocolates and flowers and express in a thousand ways, but I feel the best way to show it is when a tough time comes and you don’t leave her side, stand by her and not crib about the situation.

Well, I got my chance yesterday when in a weird turn of events a small thing at work was blown out of proportion and the whole thing came to a situation wherein either one of us would be terminated from work or maybe even both of us. Had less than a split second to decide, so took the decision, the decision that no wise person would take but a decision that any wise person who knows me could predict.

I took the blame and I don’t feel bad about it, in fact I feel great about it because it is for her. I know for a fact that I'll be condemned by people who hear about it, every one of them but then…. Hey, what else is new?

As far as I know’ its totally worth it. Anything absolutely anything for her.

Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?

I guess it requires a special talent of some sort to get into some sort of weird trouble every now and then and I think I have mastered the art. But the mess I have got myself into this time tops every chart... Once again, I think I'm in love...
I can't stop thinking about her, every time my phone beeps a message or rings I hope its her, every song I hear reminds me of her... every moment I am awake I keep thinking about what would I say or do when I meet her... Well, Big deal! Its not the first time this has happened... but this time the story gets a whole new twist....
The "her" is the above sentences happens to be my best friends girlfriend!!!

I'm in such a big dilemma that even Raju Rastogi's dilemma when he had to choose between his friend and his engineering in 3 idiots sounds light.and to add to it, the couple loves to hangout with me
a usual conversation in office goes something like this
Friend: Saturday chalega ghoomne

Me: Nahi yaar kaam hai

Friend: Chal na, teeno masti maarenge

Me: Arre yaar tum log couple ho, mai kya karunga, you guys should spend some time together without me!

Friend: Chal na

Me: Nahi re, ghar pe kaam hai

Friend: Tum bolo, tumhaari sunta hai

Her: Chalo na

Me: Kab? Kahaan? Kitne baje? Kya Pehenkar aaun?

She calls me, messages me and complains about him not calling her or giving her space or about a 1000 other things in the world, which I don't give a damn about 'coz all I want to do is to tell her.. That I'll treat you like a princess, I'll give so much time and space that you could build a dozen continuums but all I do is justify him.
Makes me feel that I'm the smallest person on earth, breaking the code, falling in love friends girl... and nothing absolutely no statement I make makes me feel good about it!!
As of now, I have created a fake girlfriend whom I use as an excuse not to hangout with them... have missed 3 hangouts and she messaged me every time that they are missing me.
Have no clue about what to do and am sure no one has!

Paranormal Activity

Saw the movie Paranormal Activity today, had heard a lot about it being scary and all and I have to confess it was more scary than I thought it would be. It's about a couple in which the girl has been haunted since childhood by an "entity", so when she moves in with her boyfriend, the boyfriend decides to capture all the weird activities in their house using a camera and whatever is shot from that camera is the movie. So what starts with a slight movement of the door turns into more..... much more.
There were moments in the theater when I sunk into my chair expecting the worse to happen, and startled by the movie at times and at times by the screams of the girls sitting right behind me, but the scare really started when I reached back home, now I was asked to fetch something from my brother's house, so I had to spend like 10 - 15 seconds in an empty house. Trust me, I was at my praying best, coz the slightest sound in the house in those few seconds would've made me run faster than Usain Bolt.
That said, the movie is a must watch and the faint hearted should avoid it like plague.

A Whole New World....

Alright....... finally one of the longest days of my life is about to come to an end!! I've been moved to this new shift in the office starting 4:30 to 13:30. Its 12:10 as I type this and I feel that I've been sitting here since Hum Aapke Hai Kaun hit the theaters....I don't know how the world outside would have transformed, it would be like Tom Hanks in Cast Away returning from an isolated island to the civilized world after years.Now this is a UK call center I work for, so the timings in terms of London are 11 pm to 8 am.So, there are no calls since all sane people in London are asleep and those unlucky people who are not would be working in an unfortunate shift like I am.Most of the Internet websites are blocked here, so the only productive thing I did today at work was to figure out a way to crack the security wall and access the websites and hence the Blog post!Well, since its noon now and people who are from the world of "Normal Timings" have started to come to work, I can hear human sounds again. Its feels good knowing that ever since I logged in the language hasn't changed much and its disappointing to realize that girls still believe in the fashion of covering themselves with fabric.
